Buffalo Soldiers Winter Ride

Recognizing Black History Month

Honoring Black History Month with a winter ride at Griffin Bike Park! Warm-up with hot chocolate and cookies after the ride.

Finish your week with a fun, relaxing ride through our woods at Griffin Bike Park.  Hybrids and mountain bikes are preferable; however, helmets are required. Adult supervision is required for ages 13 and under. Bring a bike light or headlamp to light the trail. Check Griffin Bike Park’s Facebook page every Friday for an updated ride status or call 812-462-3392.

Wabashiki Full Moon/Moonlight Rides

Starting May 9 through December 23.

Dates: To coincide with the full moon. ( when possible)

Bike the Wabashiki Trail with our Griffin Bike Park Manager and VCPRD Natural Resource Programmer on an adventurous 10-mile fundraising ride through the river bottoms. Hybrids and mountain bikes are recommended, helmets are required. Clear-lensed glasses suggested. Adult supervision is required for ages 13 and under. Bring a bike light or headlamp to light the trail. Snacks and water provided while supplies last. Payment will be accepted onsite with cash only, please.

The Do INdiana Offroad Series makes its annual stop at Griffin Bike Park. Classes for everyone from young to old, beginner to pro. Saturday Trail Run or Sundays Cross Country races. DINO is Indiana State Championship Series for Mountain Biking.

 

Griffin Bike Park Dual Slalom Series

Five Race Series

Beginning May, 24th Ending September, 13th

Dates May, 24, June, 14, July 12, August,16, September, 13.

Onsite Registration.

Race times: 1 p.m. Quals start at 10 a.m.

All Ages & Skill Levels.

Dual Slalom Racing on the Dual Slalom at Griffin Bike Park. Our true King of the Mountain competition. Riders will be broken down into age and skill classes. Racing 2 heat, bracket racing to determine class champions for each race and the overall season points championships!

 

Pump It Up Pump Track Challenge

Five Race Series

Beginning May, 23th Ending September 12th

Dates May 23, June, 13, July 11, August 15th, and September 12.

Onsite Registration.

Race times: 1 p.m.

Bring your speed and skills and race on the GBP Pro pump track for prizes and bragging rights. Head to Head double-elimination format. Riders will be broken down into age classes. Racing 2 heat, bracket racing to determine class champions for each race and the overall season points championships!

 

 

GBP Weeknight Short Track Series

5 Race Series

Beginning May 20 Ending Sept 11,

Dates May 20, June 17, July 15, Aug 12, Sept 11.

Race Times: 7 p.m.

Weeknight racing on our ever-changing less than one-mile short track course.

Beginner friendly, and fast and fun for experts.

Race length depends on the class entered.

 

Ride for the Fallen/Volunteer Party.

Monday, May 25

8:30 a.m. Meet at Veterans Memorial Park

Special “Ride” for the Fallen: To Honor and Remember all those who have paid the price for our Freedom.

Group Ride Route:

Start at the Stadium, ride around the Veterans Trail passing and honoring over 7,000 flags representing our Fallen heroes killed in Iraq and Afghanistan (8:45 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.).

Then, go north of the Park and take Heritage Trail East to Highland Lawn Cemetery for the Patriot Guard ceremony at Sargent Dale Griffin’s gravesite at 9:15 a.m., then attend Memorial Day presentation in the Cemetery from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Next, leave Cemetery with Police escort and bike to
Fowler Park’s front gate entrance for a special flag ceremony to honor Army Cpt. Eugene Russell Fowler. (18 miles to the Park).

Bike to Griffin Bike Park for Volunteer Appreciation Event, Manager’s State of the park speech, Fun Rides and events for Kids, Cookout!
