The Hardline Cross Country Mountain Bike Race will include some of the toughest and rowdiest trails in the Griffin Bike Park trail system. If you are looking for a tougher race than your run of the mill cross country race, this race is for you. We will be including parts of Bushwack, Kabar, and Zulu as well as some other fun surprises. Then stick around for the Soldiers Salute Spring Ride.

Dual Slalom Racing on the Giant Dual Slalom at Griffin Bike Park. Our true King of the Mountain competition. Riders will be broken down into age and skill classes. Racing 2 heat, bracket racing to determine class champions for each race and the overall season points championships!

Special “Ride” for the Fallen: To Honor and Remember all those who have paid the price for our Freedom.

Group Ride Route:

Start at the Stadium, ride around the Veterans Trail passing and honoring over 7,000 flags representing our Fallen heroes killed in Iraq and Afghanistan (8:45 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.).

Then, go north of the Park and take Heritage Trail East to Highland Lawn Cemetery for Patriot Guard ceremony at Sargent Dale Griffin’s grave site at 9:15 a.m., then attend Memorial Day presentation in the Cemetery from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Next, leave Cemetery with Police escort and bike to
Fowler Park’s front gate entrance for a special flag ceremony to honor Army Cpt. Eugene Russell Fowler. (18 miles to the Park).

Bike to Griffin Bike Park for Volunteer Appreciation Event, Manager’s State of the park speech, Fun Rides and events for Kids, Cookout!

Start at the VFW and ride from 12th Street to 13th and Wabash, Ride 13th Street (South) all the way to Oregon Church Road Go right (West) on to Oregon Church Road over to Bono Road, Go right (North) on to Bono Road to Griffin Bike Park.

There are lots of things to do once you get to the park. Have family and friends meet you there after the ride!

Fowler Park Camping FAQ

Just a little extra info if you are camping with us.

Fowler Park Camping
FAQ
1. Check and setup by 9:30 p.m. Gatehouse and Gates close and are locked at 10:00 p.m. No entrance or exit after 10 (besides emergency)
2. Stop at Gatehouse before setup. Provide License number and requested info at this time.
3. Set up tent or wheeled camping equipment immediately after check in. This serves to reserve your camp spot.
4. Return your Parking Pass to the gatehouse mailbox when checking out of the campground.

Rules to Remember

All camping is first come first serve. No reservations.
No alcohol is allowed in Vigo County Parks.
Cash or in state check is accepted for payment.
NO bike riding on Fowler Park Trails. (Hiking Only)
NO bike riding in the Pioneer Village.

Come celebrate friendship, family, freedom, and community with the Griffin Bike Park. Free guided and non-guided rides will happen throughout the weekend. Friday will kick off with the spectator friendly Dual Slalom qualifying rounds. Saturday morning will be the finals of the Big Money Dual Slalom race. Saturday will also be the inaugural race of the Indiana Interscholastic MTB League Cross Country races. Then finish the day with a cool off on the Griffin Bike Park Lake Jump and Floating Trail. Sunday will feature a grueling Cross Country race with categories for all skill levels and ages. Children’s activities will be available throughout the weekend. Bike the Wabashiki Trail with our Naturalist and Griffin Bike Park Manager on an adventurous 10-mile fundraising ride through the river bottoms. Hybrids and mountain bikes are preferable; however, helmets are required. Clear-lensed glasses suggested. Adult supervision is required for ages 13 and under. Bring a bike light or head lamp to light the trail. Glow bracelets available for decorating your bike. Snacks and water provided while supplies last. Payment will be accepted onsite with cash only, please.
